Purnaa packing ethical products for a brand

Congratulations, you won the employee of the month award! How did you feel when you found out that you won?

Thank you. I felt very happy.

We want to get to know you a little bit better. Can you tell us about your family?

I am currently living with one of my brothers. I have 2 younger sisters and 3 brothers.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I like to make handicrafts out of felt, such as key chains and window hangings.

Who is your role model and why?

The chairman from a hostel I stayed at while going to school. He helped me when I had hard times and he motivated me by telling me that things will get better.

What is something fun or interesting you have done recently?

My uncle recently came for a visit. He lives in a different part of Nepal. That was a fun time.

If you only had one word to describe yourself, what would it be?

When have you been the most satisfied in your life?

When my brother worked in India. He doesn’t work there anymore; he is the brother I am living with now. At that time he knew what hardships I was facing and he used to help me and send me some money.

What is your job at Purnaa?

Packing Team Leader

What do you enjoy the most about your job?

I enjoy packing the items.

How long have you worked at Purnaa?

About 5 to 6 months.

What did you do before you worked at Purnaa?

I worked for an office that made handicrafts.

What is different about Purnaa from other places you have worked?

Everyone here is given equal treatment. It’s not like that everywhere else.

How have you changed as a person since working here?

I have been able to solve problems at home because of the work here. We get Saturday and Sunday off so I have been able to manage more time with my family.

What have you learned from working at Purnaa that you would like to share with others?

It’s a good place here because everyone is treated equally.

If you had to convince a friend to apply for this job, what would you tell them?

You’ll have a good future here.

What dreams do you have for the future?

My dream is to have all my family come to Kathmandu and live together. Currently, some live in the village and some I don’t know where they are. I want us all to be together.
