Congratulations, you won the employee of the month award! How did you feel when you found out that you won?
“Not being much for the spotlight, I felt a little shy but I was greatly honored.”
What is your job at Purnaa?
“At Purnaa, I am a Project Manager and there’s a team of us that work with Purnaa’s clients to move designs through sampling and production.”
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
“I really like when we can create a beautiful product and our clients are really happy with it. Seeing their satisfaction makes me really happy and that we’ve done a job well done.”
Do you know why you were selected?
“Yeah, I’ll have to give credit to my supervisor for just being an amazing person who just took the time to notice the work that I was doing.”
If I were to ask your supervisor what your greatest strength is, what would they tell me?
“Probably in my role of managing details of projects, it would probably be a meticulous attention to detail and sometimes an over attention to detail.”
How long have you worked at Purnaa?
“I’ve been at Purnaa for almost 3 years now and project managing almost 2 years I guess. Before that I oversaw our quality control department. This gave me a unique opportunity to be close to the production and sewing teams and interact with our great QC team. I think there are a lot of transferable skills in QC as I’m able to become familiar with garment construction and be able to spot quality issues quickly. That helps with working with customers and their designs and wondering how they could improve or change something to make it easier for the production process.”
We want to get to know you a little bit better. Can you tell us about your family?
“Yeah, I have one amazing little sister, who is married with two kids and they’re adorable and 2 loving parents who are very supportive and I’m very honored to have a good relationship with them. I have a beautiful wife and no kids yet. That’s my immediate family.”
What do you like to do in your free time?
“In my free time I like to go mountain biking, running, hiking, like to read books and listen to economic podcasts. A little bit of an odd person in that I enjoy cleaning. I like things clean.”
What is something fun or interesting you have done recently?
“I recently went with some friends to hike the Mardi Himal trek, out of Pokhara, and I just really enjoyed getting to see the beautiful Nepal Himalayas and it was just majestic. The mountains here are incredible. Nothing I have ever experienced compares with those majestic peaks. Yeah, that was a lot of fun.”
If you only had one word to describe yourself, what would it be?
“Ah… that’s a hard question to answer. *pause* I think needing the amount of time I need to answer that question, I would say ‘thoughtful’.”
Final question, if you had to convince a friend to apply for a job at Purnaa, what would you tell them?
“Everyone at Purnaa, no matter what job or role they have, they play a part and participate in fulfilling Purnaa’s mission of helping people. That’s a lot more fulfilling than pursuing your own interests or serving yourself. We really work together as a family to achieve a common goal and I think that’s powerful."
