Updated: Jan 9

a

Purnaa is excited to announce a new partnership with the USAID Trade and Competitiveness program in Nepal. USAID will help Purnaa expand its manufacturing capability by investing in state-of-the-art embroidery technology and the training and expertise needed to grow this new capability.

The project started on Oct 1st 2023 and will run through 2024. The goal of the project expand Purnaa's impact by creating more job opportunities for marginalized people in Nepal, by expanding our product offering to high-quality embroidery on our products such as baseball caps. In the project, Purnaa will invest NPR 11,002,100 in advanced embroidery machinery, fusing machinery, and manpower required for supervising the purchase, installation, and execution of the project. USAID will contribute NPR 3,845,800 in training expenses, market research for scaling sales related to embroidered products, and salary support for project management and implementation.

USAID Trade and Competitiveness supports broad-based, market-driven growth for Nepal’s economy. Working with both the private and public sectors, this activity advances micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprise development, establishes new trade opportunities, and unlocks Nepal’s investment potential. More information about the program can be found at the USAID Website.

We are grateful to USAID for this opportunity and look forward to a successful project over the next year.
